Lisboa. Stepping off the plane in my winter jacket and into the humid warm air was brilliant yesterday. No better way to beat the jet lag then with fresh mist spraying in off the Portuguese seaside.
Portugal has an interesting range of artistic and touristic activities to fulfill your every traveling desire, and then some.
The character, food, entertainment and culture are unique to the region and the tile work is literally everywhere you turn your head. If you detest beautifully designed tiles and aesthetically pleasing architecture, don’t come to Lisbon.
Last time I was here at the Living Lounge Hostel there were thirty spanish students here from Madrid. They spoke barely any English, drank too much red wine and had loud giggling dance parties until 2am. Luckily for my jet lag, I missed that bunch this time.
With only a day here, I’m fortunate to have taken advantage of yesterday’s good weather, and take a 360 panorama with my IPAD mini of the Praça do Comércio archway last night. Wish I could have spent more time exploring Lisbon Week , the amazing art and design scene, and drink Ginjinha at the Bairro Alto while watching dramatic Fado performances in funky nightclubs.
Lisboa… I’ll be back for a more thorough stop again one day.
